The role of the marine warranty surveyor is a challenging position in many aspects; from working remotely from the rest of your team; to having to make challenging and sometimes unpopular decisions regarding operations. This can pose additional strains on individuals mental health and wellbeing.

SOMWS recognise many members are supported through mental health & wellbeing training and guidance from their companies, however, not all companies offer this, or offer training which is tailored to the situations that surveyors find themselves in.

This page is aimed to signpost useful guidance from organisations both within and outside our industry, including health boards, industry bodies, and charities.
